Last week I had dinner at Quintessence, a vegan/raw food restaurant in the East Village. The food was delicious. As an appetizer I had the Caprese Pocket (Sliced tomato, cashew cheese, pesto and fresh basil wrapped with zucchini skins. Garnished with pesto sauce.) It was incredible and the first time I’d tried cashew cheese. I also had the ginger latte which was made with cashew milk. So, last night after my oxtail decadence I headed over to Whole Foods to pick up some things for todays’ meals and included cashew milk in the purchase. With lunch, I had a matcha latte with cashew milk (recipe here). Pretty delicious. (Pro-tip: do not consume past 7pm if you’re sensitive to caffeine. If you do, the seasons 1 and 2 of Sherlock are on Netflix for late night binging.)
